Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page explains the position at Budgetlearner and the routes available.

What to Expect

Opting out stops the sharing of advertising identifiers; it does not remove advertising from the site. You may still see ads, but they will be generic rather than selected from your browsing history. Nothing else about the site changes, and we do not degrade access or withhold content because you opted out.

Scope of This Right

• We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have. What can happen is narrower: where advertising is served on this site, advertising cookies and device identifiers may be made available to advertising partners. The statutory definitions of ‘sale’ and ‘sharing’ are wide enough to capture that arrangement, so we treat it as opt-out-able rather than argue about the label.

Easiest first: switch on Global Privacy Control in your browser settings or via an extension — it is detected and honoured on every page load, automatically.
